This item clipped into place just like the original cover, except it has an LED light built in. The electric cable (wiring loom) is plug-and-play, so no wires need to be cut. Simply unplug the tailgate connector, plug it into the LED wiring loom, and plug that back into the tailgate switch. EASY.
